Changes in Duties for Wood Mouldings from China

Estimated reading time: 2–3 minutes

On September 23, 2026, the U.S. Court of International Trade made a final decision. This decision was for a case about wood mouldings and millwork products from China. Two companies, China Cornici Co., Ltd. and RaoPing HongRong Handicrafts Co., Ltd., took their case to court.

The court’s decision was different from what the Department of Commerce had decided. Now, China Cornici is included in the review for the period from August 12, 2020, to January 31, 2022. A new cash deposit rate of 220.87% is given to China Cornici. This is because they were not given a separate rate in the review.

The Department of Commerce will change the instructions for cash deposits. These instructions go to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The other company, Chen Chiu Global Corp., is not given a separate rate. So, the cash deposit instructions for them remain the same.

The Department of Commerce says it cannot reliquidate entries. This means they cannot reassess duties on goods already processed. Only the court can order changes or reliquidation of these entries. This decision affects products from China for a certain period.

This news is important for all businesses involved in trading these products. It helps people understand the changes in trade and duties between the United States and China.
