U.S. International Trade Commission Ends Five-Year Review of Fresh Tomatoes from Mexico

Estimated reading time: 2–4 minutes

The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has announced the termination of its five-year review of fresh tomatoes from Mexico.

This review began on August 1, 2024. Its purpose was to decide if ending the agreement that suspended the antidumping duty investigation would hurt the U.S. tomato industry.

On July 14, 2025, the Department of Commerce officially withdrew from and ended the 2019 Agreement that had suspended the antidumping investigation into Mexican tomatoes. Commerce also issued the antidumping duty order. This action was reported in the Federal Register on July 17, 2025 (Volume 90, FR 33363).

Because the 2019 Agreement is no longer in effect, there is nothing left for the USITC to review. The Commission has now formally ended its five-year review of this matter.
