U.S. Department of Commerce Reviews Antidumping Duties on Aluminum Sheet from China

The U.S. Department of Commerce is examining the antidumping duties on common alloy aluminum sheet from China. The review period is from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
Antidumping duties are extra charges on foreign products sold in the U.S. at less than fair value. This review focuses on products from the People’s Republic of China.
In their preliminary findings, the Department of Commerce has determined that the exporter under review, Yantai Jintai International Trade Co., Ltd., is part of a larger China-wide group. This means Yantai Jintai did not qualify for a separate duty rate and is included in the general duty rate for Chinese exporters.
The China-wide group is not specifically reviewed in this process unless a person or group asks for it. If not asked, their current duty rate remains unchanged at 59.72 percent.
Case and rebuttal briefs are to be submitted within certain timeframes. Interested parties must provide a table of contents and a table of authorities. They should summarize each issue in simple language at the beginning of their briefs.
The Department will not calculate new rates for Yantai Jintai because it is classified under the China-wide entity. As such, no new information needs to be disclosed.
Anyone who imports these products must continue to follow existing rules, including filing certificates regarding duties. Failure to provide these certificates could result in paying higher duties.
The Department will announce final results after this review period. These results will determine future customs duty rates for the Chinese aluminum sheet exporters.
The full scope of the order includes aluminum sheets of certain thickness and specifications, with some items excluded. The classification codes for these items are outlined, but the final determination is based on the written product descriptions. This review is part of ongoing efforts to ensure fair trading practices.
