U.S. International Trade Commission Reviews Metal Lockers from China
Estimated reading time: 1–7 minutes
The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) announced the scheduling of expedited reviews for metal lockers imported from China. These reviews will determine if repealing current trade duties would result in harm to U.S. industries.
The reviews relate to antidumping and countervailing duty orders on metal lockers. These are measures to protect U.S. producers from foreign practices like selling products at unfairly low prices and receiving unfair government help. The ITC wants to see if removing these duties would damage the U.S. industry.
The ITC decided on October 5, 2026, to conduct expedited reviews. This decision followed after finding the U.S. industry’s response to the notice was adequate, while the response from China was inadequate.
Details about the reviews, and general application rules, are available in the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. The ITC staff will place a report in the nonpublic record by January 28, 2027.
Persons interested in the reviews may submit comments. These comments are due by February 4, 2027. If the Department of Commerce takes longer to finish its review, the comment deadline may change.
Parties that send submissions must also deliver copies to all other parties involved in the reviews. The Secretary will not accept any documents unless accompanied with a certificate that confirms this delivery.
These reviews are under the authority of the Tariff Act of 1930. The ITC has issued this notice to inform the public.
Lisa Barton serves as the Secretary to the Commission.
Issued on November 3, 2026, the Federal Register documented this notice as FR Doc. 2026-22597 and harmonized to the billing code 7020-02-P.
