United States International Trade Commission Schedules Expedited Reviews on Melamine From China
Estimated reading time: 3–5 minutes
The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) has announced the scheduling of expedited reviews concerning the antidumping and countervailing duty orders on melamine imports from China. This process is to determine if lifting these duties would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of material injury to U.S. industries.
The ITC’s decision to conduct expedited reviews comes after assessing responses to a notice issued on June 1, 2026. The Commission found the domestic interested parties’ response to be adequate. However, the response from the respondent interested party group was deemed inadequate.
As part of the process, a staff report will be prepared and placed in the nonpublic record. This report will be available to those on the Administrative Protective Order service list by December 23, 2026. A public version of the report will follow.
Interested parties who responded adequately to the initial notice can submit written comments about the determination the Commission should reach. These comments must not contain new factual information and are due by December 30, 2026.
The ITC has determined that the reviews are extraordinarily complicated. Therefore, it will extend the review period by up to 90 days as allowed under the law.
This review process is authorized under Title VII of the Tariff Act of 1930, ensuring fairness and protection for U.S. industries against unfair trade practices.
More information about the reviews can be found on the ITC’s website.
