U.S. International Trade Commission Reviews Alloy Magnesium Order
Estimated reading time: 3–5 minutes
The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) announced the start of a review on October 1, 2026. This review will decide if revoking the antidumping duty order on alloy magnesium from China would cause harm to the U.S. industry.
The antidumping duty order has been in place since April 15, 2005. The Department of Commerce has reviewed and continued this order three times before. Now, the Commission is conducting a fourth review.
Interested parties need to send their responses by November 2, 2026. Comments about whether the review should be full or expedited must be sent by December 8, 2026.
This review will focus on the possibility of harm to U.S. producers. The Commission defines U.S. producers as the Domestic Industry. The review will look at how revoking the order would affect the volume, price, and impact of imports.
Participants must provide specific information about their firms. This includes details about production capacity and U.S. shipments. They should also list purchasers and sources of price data.
People or groups who want to participate must file an entry of appearance within 21 days of the notice’s publication. The Secretary will keep a list of those involved.
Limited business proprietary information will be shared with authorized parties. These parties must apply for access within 21 days.
All submissions must be electronic, using the Commission’s filing system. No paper copies will be accepted.
The Office of Management and Budget requires parties to submit information accurately. The estimated time to complete the response is 15 hours.
If parties cannot provide information, they must explain why and offer alternative ways to provide it. Otherwise, the Commission may assume their information is missing.
