Department of Commerce: Final Results of Review on Superabsorbent Polymers from Korea
The United States Department of Commerce has released the final results of the antidumping duty administrative review on Certain Superabsorbent Polymers (SAP) from the Republic of Korea. This review covered the period from December 1, 2023, to November 30, 2024.
The Commerce Department has determined that the SAP from Korea was not sold in the United States at less than the normal value. Specifically, the company reviewed, LG Chem, Ltd. (LGC), did not sell its SAP at unfair prices during this period. Therefore, there will be no antidumping duties applied to LGC’s SAP entries during this review period.
Background and Process
In May 2026, the Department of Commerce published the preliminary results of the review. Stakeholders were invited to comment, but no feedback was received. The final decision remains unchanged from the preliminary findings.
The administrative review ensured that imports from Korea complied fully with U.S. trade laws. The Department followed procedures outlined in the Tariff Act of 1930.
Disclosure and Assessment Rates
Since there were no changes from the preliminary results, the Department of Commerce will not release new calculation details. For entries made by LGC, customs will liquidate them without any duty because the final dumping margin is 0.00%.
Cash Deposit Requirements
The cash deposit rate for LG Chem, Ltd. will now be zero percent for future shipments. For companies not part of this review, the last determined rates will apply. If neither the exporter nor the producer was covered in past reviews, a rate of 26.05% would apply.
Responsibilities and Reminders
Importers must file certificates regarding antidumping duty reimbursements before the completion of the review process. The failure to file may result in penalties. Parties involved with confidential data in this review are reminded to return or destroy sensitive information according to the guidelines.
These results are public and will be published in accordance with U.S. trade laws. This notice emphasizes the Department’s commitment to fair trade and its vigilance in monitoring compliance with trade laws.
