Estimated reading time: 1–3 minutes

The U.S. Department of the Treasury has made an important announcement. The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has added names to the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (SDN List).

This action means that all properties and interests of these persons in the U.S. are now blocked. Also, U.S. persons are generally not allowed to do business with them.

The announcement was made on October 15, 2026. The details can also be found in the Federal Register, Volume 91, Number 201, published on October 20, 2026.

The SDN List is available online. More information about OFAC sanctions can be found on their website at https://ofac.treasury.gov.

For questions, you can contact the OFAC’s associate director for global targeting at 202-622-2420. There’s also contact for the assistant director for licensing and the assistant director for sanctions compliance.

Some graphics and additional information are included in the Federal Register notice. Bradley T. Smith, Director of OFAC, authorized this notice under Executive Order 13902.

The official document number for this notice is 2026-21398, and it was filed on October 19, 2026.

The action is part of the U.S. government’s efforts to impose sanctions and ensure compliance with international laws. This helps prevent illegal activities and promote security.
