Who Fills Out This Application?
Individuals and businesses who want to teach personal financial management to debtors in bankruptcy cases must fill out this application. The application is required by the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005. Debtors must complete an approved instructional course before they can have their debts discharged.

The application gathers information from potential course providers to make sure they meet legal requirements and rules. Providers must follow the criteria set by the United States Trustee Program.
